Welcome to the world Harmony Clara Gorton

Well, for those of you who haven't heard...Harmony has arrived!!!!

After 22 hours of labor and 35 minutes of pushing she entered our world at 11:08pm on October 5, 2010. Weighing in at 7lbs 4 oz and 20 1/2in long, she is a perfect beauty!!!!

I'm for sure a Daddy's girl!

...but I love my Mommy too (when she's not smothering me with kisses)!

I can't wait to get rid of the mittens, so Daddy tried to help me out by giving me a manicure, and I LOVED it!

I also like naps on Mommy or Daddy's chest...I sleep really peacefully there!

That's all for now...we'll try to keep you updated a little more often now that we are settling in a little better now!

About 20 Weeks!

So here we are...a few days shy of 20 weeks!!

I still haven't caved in 100% to maternity clothes, as you can see from my previous post...I'm not too fond of them!! On my days off from work you can find me in my yoga pants, the one cute pair of shorts I got a Targét or a loose flowy dress! I gotta hand it to Targét...but you have to remember that the maternity shopping where I live is few and very far between...they had the cutest selection out of anywhere I've been, but the selection is quite small.

Anyway, Jeff & I will celebrate our 1 year anniversary on Sunday!!! We are so excited! We're going to take a roadtrip to the Grand Canyon and stay at a lodge up there!!! We have both gotten into photography since the purchase of our first major camera back two Christmas' ago! So we wanted to go somewhere that the scenery would be beautiful to photograph...maybe we'll get a few more maternity & family shots too! I'll update as soon as we get home and I get the chance!

16...almost 17 week ultrasound!

So, last week we went to our 16 week appt. We saw the Ultrasound Technician first and then we went across the street to see my OB!

We were so excited, we thought we were going to learn the gender of our little Baby Bean, but we learned instead that we have a little monkey! Baby Bean was an active little toot (kicking, punching and doing barrel rolls) during the entire hour. Thus, we were not able to get a profile picture...or even learn if our Baby Bean is a Boy or a Girl. The poor Ultrasound Technician was getting a little frustrated, because he was having a very difficult time catching the baby in any position he needed to get the anatomy measurements he needed. He assured us that if we get a call to come back in, it was not because they found something wrong rather it was that our little toot was fighting him the entire time and they needed to try to remeasure again. At that point I did not care that we were unable to tell the gender, I was just so excited that we have a VERY active baby with a GREAT heart rate! Now, try telling an impatient BeBe-to-be that we were not able to find out the gender...woah...my mom was not pleased with Baby Bean's performance! We are all wanting to plan the nursery and buy the baby clothes, but my mom is just sitting on the edge of her seat ready to get started!

We'll update you as soon as we get more news! Oh...and the pictures! The one of the Baby Bean is his/her right side with his/her right arm waving. The picture of my belly...that is right after my lunch. I'm always a little more full than normal right after a meal!

Lazy Days!

I am happy to report that I made it through the New Year weekend without pulling all my hair out due to the stress of remembering last year! I'm trying to keep moving past all of that, but still have my moments. God bless my husband for dealing with me when I'm a nut-case!

Onto 2010! My In-law's were in town this week just to hang out and spend some time with us! We took them to Jerome for a day...if you don't remember, here is the post from when we went last time! My brother-in-law, Johnny, got a camera similar to ours for Christmas, so we played around a lot with different settings and whatnot! Here are a few of the pics he snapped of Jeff & I! Fun times with family!

Perfect Gift for the Holidays!

So, last year my husband and I decided we wanted to sponsor a child for Christmas! That was our gift to each other! We researched a TON of different companies, their financial accountability boards (if they even had them). A lot of companies we looked at were a bit skeptical, but we were lucky to have a few friends that sponsor children and use Compassion International. At the end of our research we decided we would work with Compassion International. They offer trips to visit your child, they tell you how your money is being used and you have direct contact with your child via letters. They obviously have a translator that translates our letters for us and our child, as well!

So, here is our little guy! His name is Mesay Markos, he is 8 years old and will be 9 in February! He lives with his Aunt, because sadly both of his parents have passed, but he is a bright young guy with a bright future!

So, if you and your spouse aren't wanting to do material gifts for the holidays this year and are looking for a good gift for each other...go to http://www.compassion.com and sponsor a child this year. We pay $38 a month and it helps to get him into school, buy his supplies for school, help with any health needs he may encounter through the year, etc. The other thing, is that Compassion International is a faith based program, so Mesay is learning about faith as well! A MAJOR plus!
